The main street it`s full of tatty pubs serving English beer and pub grub, duty free shops selling Bombay Gin at £9 for a litre, jewelllry shops and everyone speaks English.
Just like walking down the Barking Road. Kin `andsome!

Been living in Zurich for the last 15 months great place, very civilised, nearly all speak English, great location, middle of Europe easy access to France, Germany, Italy, Austria and the rest of Europe. Beautiful nearby mountains ect but bloody expensive if not earning Swiss Francs. Went to Milan last weekend so Italy and confirmed it as my favourite European country.

Private Dancer would consider living Spain rather than Switzerland, because there is a higher chance of meeting up with trannies in a Latin country than a north European country.

France. We go there for a couple of months every year. I agree the Atlantic coast is better than the Med - we go to the Vendee just for sea sand sun, but also further South, to La Rochelle, Biarritz and San Sebastian. Usually if we are down the bottom end there we do the 24 hour ferry into Santander or Bilbao, then come up around the bend. Inland, my favourite is the Lot region, athough it does get bloody hot with a 3 year old in tow (almost 50* at times last Summer).
I've always fancied the Northern Spain run but haven't got onto it yet: Gijon, Coruna, Santiago... the scenery looks fantastic.
If I had to live out there, I'd probably go for France, as we know the ropes so well, but Italy is fantastic too if you can stand the bureaucracy. And the noise - bloody noisy, the Italians.

A near run thing between Holland, Germany, France and Spain. Each has their unique culture and a proud people.

I think pound for pound its probably northern croatia - the istrian peninsula in particular.
although joining the EU will probably fucking ruin it and curtail my cheap holidays on the adriatic.
